Indigenous groups, lawmakers of various political parties representing indigenous community and Baidya faction of the UCPN (Maoist) have strongly objected to the agreement reached among four major parties on the disputed issues related to constitution drafting on Tuesday.

They have accused that the agreement on 11-province federal structure was conspiracy to federate the country without recongnising ethnic identity.

Issuing a press release on Wednesday, Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN) has appealed to protest against the agreement saying that the deal was against the essence of federalism.

Lawmakers of the major parties representing indigenous communities have also stood against the four party agreement.

The UCPN (Maoist) secretary general Ram Bahadur Thapa, UML leader Asok Tharu, Nepali Congress leader Jip Chhiring Sherpa, Nepal Sadbhawana Party leader Laxman Lal Karna and NEFIN chairman Raj Kumar Lekhi Tharu will address a protest programme to be organised in Naya Baneshwor followed by whistle rally at 2.00 pm today.
