UCPN (Maoist) vice chairman and hardliner leader Mohan Baidya has said his faction "has started process to announce a new party".
Speaking at a press conference held at the office of the party's Newa State Committee in Kupandole after a meeting of the central leaders loyal to him, Baidya said they were not in a position to stay together with the party establishment.
"Rather than a split in the party, this is going to be a unity of those believing in an ideological position, and a separation from the opportunists," said he.
The Baidya faction has also called a national gathering of leaders and cadres to decide its next course of action.
Baidya also dismissed the government announcement of fresh election of the Constituent Assembly. According to him, an interim government comprised of all the parties should be formed immediately "in order to complete the constitution-drafting process." nepalnews.com ...
